CNN Announces Layoffs

02/12/2018 Source: TTN by: Donny Bomenabori

 -

CNN actually managed to turn a profit in recent years, leveraging their position as an anti-Trump outlet to their advantage as people tuned in to watch election coverage and early Trump administration developments. But it just wasn't enough.

Now, the fake news network is preparing to lay off nearly all of their digital department to accommodate their new patrons at AT&T, who are set to purchase the network. AT&T has been in talks to purchase Time-Warner, CNN's parent company.

CNN's digital department was looking to challenge Vice and BuzzFeed in the entertainment news space. That effort failed, as the department lost millions of dollars, according to Vanity Fair, even though the network as a whole was profitable.

CNN has drawn fire from President Trump for reporting fake news, as the two have exchanged blows publicly. CNN was the target of ridicule last fall for running a defensive ad that subtly references their disagreements with President Trump, and claims that they will tell you the difference between an apple and a banana. The creators of this ingenious ad will be missed. [Big Grin]

I'm old enough to remember when CNN was actually a decent news source. I guess that really shows my age.

Hypocrisy: CNN Lies About Cruz, Trump Avoiding Questions

Both Republican leaders happy to answer questions and give interviews

Infowars.com - February 18, 2018

CNN has a habit of accusing Republicans of avoiding interviews when in reality it covers up and buries them, or simply pretends to ask tough questions for clicks.

CNN host Chris Cuomo called out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Thursday, claiming he was “afraid” to face questions about gun violence following the Florida high school shooting that left 17 dead.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” he asked.

“You have to take these issues on. You gotta ask the tough questions, you must be held accountable,” Cuomo said.

But Cruz schooled Cuomo and the Fake News Network the next day, posting a photo of him giving CNN the interview in question, which they for some reason decided not only not to air, but deny even existed.

That's funny, I spoke to CNN for 15 mins yesterday about proactive solutions to prevent gun violence (like passing the Grassley-Cruz bill—which Dems filibustered—that would add $300 million for school safety) yet CNN has aired NONE of it. Why not air the (entire) interview? https://t.co/c4GZcqTbs7

This isn’t the first time CNN lied about Republicans avoiding interviews.

Last August, CNN reporter Jim Acosta accused President Trump of ignoring questions as he boarded Marine One, when really the helicopter’s engines made it impossible to hear any questions.

“Why won’t you talk to the press!” Acosta yelled as the deafening sound drowned him out.

The intellectual dishonesty on display by CNN is typical of the network, which explains why their ratings collapsed by 30% since this time last year.

Fake news! It isn't just WHAT they report that makes it fake, but HOW they report it!

The media's walk of shame won't end. Where the news outlets got it wrong, just in the last week. Too long to post here, read the whole thing at the link.

quote:
The media have been on a walk-of-shame bender since 2016. They were whored out by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, swallowed the Christopher Steele dossier, and still get drunk-dialed by the Left. The cheap-date journos show up every time.

Each morning, the media floozies trudge through the quad wearing their “I’m With Her” t-shirts from the night before while they come up with a new cover story for their bad behavior. They lie, distort what actually happened, change the subject, and make excuses for why they got in bed with an ungrateful lover. “Hey, it’s better than sleeping with that other guy!” They insist they’re not being used, but everyone who sees them meander back to the dorm knows they are.

Last week was perhaps one of the tawdriest of the walks of shame taken by the flat-on-its-back, call-me-later commentariat. Still desperate to prove their Hillary hook-up was worth it, the media had several flings over the past several days: North Korea, FBI Director Christopher Wray (again), a white supremacist group, and Russian social-media bots all got bedded. Like the easy girl who never learns her lesson, journalists and opinion-writers keep ruining their reputations in the futile hope of getting some love from their greedy suitors in the #Resistance, then they traipse their escapades through news websites and social media to justify their deed.

Let’s take a look at last week’s Walk of Shame, shall we? (...)
