The experts tell us there is no inflation.

Do you know that the minimum wage in 1964 was $1.25?

That is five quarters per hour. Take those five 1964 quarters and melt them down. They are now worth $15 in 2018 dollars.

Or $120 per day, $600 per week, $2400 per month or $31,200 per year.

I want my 1964 quarters back. [Wink]

When I was a kid, one of my "jobs" was cutting firewood, for a whopping $3 a cord. That doesn't sound like a lot (though my dad, who used to cut firewood for $1 a cord, thought I was grossly overpaid), but I was typically paid in $1 silver certificates. At today's low silver prices, that's $50 a cord.

I wish I could say I saved all that silver, or spent it on those $25 government surplus 1911's. But I ended up spending it on a 1954 De Soto.

Come to think of it, I wish I had that De Soto now, too.

My first ride was a 53 Dodge pickup. Wish I still had it.

My first was a 1948 Ford tractor, but I don't suppose that counts. [Smile]

Before you sell anything, you have to ask yourself, can I afford to replace this?

Good advice, but about fifty years too late. [Wink]
