Here is some info from 'Reverend Bow's 11 Meter Ministry'

The Radios chosen for the project were the Anytone Smart CB again, and a B-Tech UV-2501 VHF/UHF. Also added into the mix would be my old Magellan GPS for finding my way around…
Using the ammo can does provide a very strong enclosure for Comm gear. Fine for use when having automotive capability, but very heavy to tote if on foot. He also has posts RE:50 cal Ammo cans
This could provide some ideas for your needs.

Over the years I've built several of these and they work well. I have one for radios and another for sla batteries and numerous adapters/connectors. Toss them into the BOV and you're ready to go.

There are even commercially versions of this available now.
